Does your needing self-care but don’t seem to have the time sound familiar?
Do you wish you could have more restful sleep?
Does procrastination paralyze you?

Hey, I’m Melinda, a wife, a mom, a grandma and are so excited that you are here at” Lifestyle of Daily Joy”, and I hear you, see you, feel you, and I have been there. For many years, I was just hanging on by a thread. I understand, I too have felt worn out and wondered how in the world I was going to do what life expected of me to do. Chaotic mess might as well have been my middle name. I remember a time when I knew my thoughts were not serving me well, I just did not know how to go about changing them. I have always struggled with time for self-care. I am no stranger to needing restful sleep. I understand the paralyzing grip of procrastination. Disorganization might as well have been my last name. Setting boundaries was tough for me. Me and self-esteem were not friends. Confidence was non-existent in my life. I can certainly understand your reservations as fear stopped me from living life. For me, anxiety called shotgun of the driver seat at times. I am familiar with how it feels to reach the end of your rope saying,” Something has got to change”. I have been there wondering if there really is a loving God that exists. I learned through life how to grow closer to God.
Since then, I have become appreciative of and love my life. As I learned it is a process, it is messy, imperfect, and that it is okay to make mistakes, to be the person I was created to be, imperfect, quirky, unpolished, messy, fun, and authentic self. You see, my coming out on the other side in victory from my struggles, I concluded everything starts in our mind and our response to that is the very essence of the heart and belief in who we are.
So, if you are ready to create lifelong joy then this podcast is for you. Inside this podcast, you will learn how to cultivate and create joy; how to change your mindset; gain strategies that will help you get your life organized; learn to love yourself; what can do to get better sleep; to say yes to yourself; to break free of procrastination; to boost your mood and well-being; how to live life to its fullest rather than be in survival mode; ways you can quiet your fear and anxiety. You will also get to hear guests on the show share their own stories, testimonies, and strategies that have helped them and gain different perspectives and solutions that may land well with or resonate for different areas in our life. And so much more.
So, grab your favorite nutritious snack and beverage, some paper and a pen and listen in and let’s get started on this amazing journey of creating joy.

Show notes for Melinda Heath podcast “LIFESTYLE OF DAILY JOY”
Episode #20 titled “Why Easter Matters + The Power of Hope Part 1”
FAITH-LED life-long wellness strategies for women.
Helping women create sustainable, steadfast, unshakeable, authentic joyful abundant lives through grounded faith, mindset decluttering, whole wellness, and personal limits/boundaries.
Faith-led Podcast Life Coach
This power of hope was prophesied long before the actual events took place more than 2000 years ago, this history is alive and well and the meaning of the backstory of hope and of Easter matters still today, long until the earth is no more, and our life, the very one that is hopeful we will choose for our soul to live on in eternity- with who fulfilled the prophecy and showed the ultimate act of unconditional love in the most undeserving and sacrificial way.
Melinda Heath
Welcome yes, I am so glad you are here at Lifestyle of Daily Joy. Thank you for choosing to take your precious time out of your day to listen to episode #20 “Why Easter Matters + The Power of Hope Part 1 of 2 as I would like to conserve your time, there is two parts to this and I am praying that your spirit and soul are touched and inspired from what you hear and experience and it is also my prayer, this story as a whole regarding this amazing, most giving and loving person that you will get to hear about…. moves your heart in such a way you have never been moved in your life before.
If you would like before we get started to go ahead and grab your favorite nutritional snack and beverage as well as a pen or pencil and some paper so that you can write down what catches your attention, interest, or any takeaways you may have or possibly something that was impactful for you.
Okay, for part 1 I felt it would be best to focus on the back story of Easter, what all was taking place in the background if you will, the events happening that speak of and that lead up to Easter. As I felt this way would be much better for you so there isn’t so much information to absorb all at once and my thinking was that you then could appreciate all that you hear by having an opportunity to really take it in and have some time to process it before we move on with the story of Jesus, hope, and why Easter matters.
I would like to provide the Holy Week scriptures that I mentioned in the episode as I did not share them with you in there however, are giving them to you here.
The holy week scripture reading will start this Sunday, Palm Sunday and the last scripture reading will be Easter Sunday

I would like to share with you a poem I wrote
What an amazing feeling it is to realize how beautiful the silence really is,
For there was a time it seemed you didn’t care,
Only your hard to hear whisper in my ear,
But the more I listened intently,
your words became more clear,
Saying…. just hang on, I can’t wait to share.
In the meantime,
Put your trust and faith in me,
And lay your worry and anxiety at my feet.
Though it may not seem like it to you,
I am going to help and see you through.
And I know you are wondering what is on the other side,
If it will help you smile wide,
Asking if it will bring peace to your life,
Or will it cause you to cry,
I hear you quietly and skeptically confide.
It is my hope you will hang onto me,
If you do, you will be able to see,
I’ve got you,
I’ve got this,
Please don’t despair,
I am working something out for you in hopes you will know that I am here by your side, do hear you and do care.
Melinda Heath
Hello! beautiful soul, yes, welcome to episode #17 “Does God Hear Me + Does God Answer Prayer”. Thank you for taking your valuable and precious time to hang out with me today and for listening to Lifestyle of Daily Joy.
Alright… Since I have talked so much about prayer, in many of the episodes I thought it would be a great idea to have an episode focusing on this subject. Because these thoughts have come to my mind that as you are listening to Lifestyle of Daily Joy you probably heard me say I go to God in prayer asking for help, and then my sharing with you about my experience or one of my personal stories regarding how my prayers have been answered in my life and the ways in which he has helped me in different situations. And it is also….  could quite possibly be you have heard me encourage you or at least express that you too can ask God for help in your life because it is his heart to help you as well.
I would like to share last week’s announcement again this week, in a month, I plan to do a group coaching type session and are inviting those who listened to the joy mini-series and are interested in getting on a call through zoom to talk about any takeaways may have had from that series. If you would like to participate, please send me an email so that I can know how many of us will be in attendance and this will also be the way I can provide you with updated information.

According to Jesus as he is quoted in the bible in the book of Matthew chapter 6 verse 21 (NIV-New International Version)
“For where your treasure is there your heart will be also.”
Today, is the last episode of the joy mini-series that we have been journeying through the last 9 weeks starting with episode #8 “Meaning of Joy in Life” and we will be wrapping it up by my expanding on the context and bringing new thoughts, ideas, a new perspective or a new angle to what I have shared in each of the episodes previously all the way through episode #15 “Faith-Based Self-Care” essentially tying it all together, the compilation of the ways in which true joy and self-care looks like in our life, how we can build, create, and maintain it. And I hope you have been able to see in this mini-series how each episode is built onto the next as it brings in another concept that ties into how creating joy works and how all the ideas are connected to each other.
I sincerely apologize for the duration of the episode as I do truly do honor your time as I understand you have things that keep you busy in life and this week I did go way beyond my own time limit, today though we do have a lot of exciting ground to cover as we are compiling all of the joy mini-series and I do have lots and lots of good stuff for you today as well as an announcement and that is
I am inviting you to participate in a no-cost to you, group discussion session. I am thinking about planning on doing this in about a month or so by zoom is what my intention is regarding it. So, yes, what this session will entail is as we will have completed our joy mini-series today, it will be comprised of us having a conversation or discussion if you will about any take aways you may have had, any insights that have come to you, anything that stood out to you, what may have inspired you or gave you motivation, something that helped you no matter how small that may be, maybe something you have tried and or implemented that is working for you, or possibly gave you some ideas that you hadn’t thought about, really anything that grabbed your attention from what I have shared in episodes 8 through today’s episode, #16. My thought process is for any of my listeners who are interested, that we could all come together and share our ideas. What are your thoughts?
If this sounds like something you would like to do, go ahead and send me an email to let me know you are considering to be a part of it as this will give me an idea as to how many will be in attendance. I will provide my email address to you at the end along with the other ways you can connect with me so that you can receive the information, any updates I may have, or details as well as receive an answer to any question or questions that may come to mind for you.
I am sharing with you here as well as in the episode my personal formula to sustainable authentic joy.
It is knowing you, who you are authentically + acknowledging and accepting all parts of yourself, even the ones you don’t care for + knowing and understanding not everyone is going to align with or accept you, and being okay with that + being able to allow people to have their  opinions about you but not internalizing them as truth by not believing you are not worthy it is just that you are just not right or meant for them  + understanding and accepting you aren’t perfect and there will be times you don’t always get it right and that is okay because you are human and God understands this + life isn’t always going to go the way we hoped that there is maybe a different plan God had for you + joy is being at peace with these things and in times when your life seems to be falling apart it is though not comfortable or fun, you are going to be okay because you have what you need to get through + placing necessary boundaries on yourself to protect yourself from your human natured tendencies to want to be accepted by all + and having an unwavering grounded faith in the Lord that he truly wants what is best for you, that he has a plan for you, and that he cannot wait until you decide to partner with him in your journey of life.

Hello- Hello- beautiful souls I am Melinda Heath welcome to “Lifestyle of Daily Joy” episode #14 “Ditch Schedule + Mental Health” I have been having so much fun journeying with you so far, are really glad you are here hanging out with me, and I thank you for taking your precious time to listen.
If you haven’t already, take a moment to grab your favorite nutritional snack and beverage as you get settled in.

Today we are continuing our self-care series and will be talking about giving ourselves permission to ditch our schedule. I would like to clarify the context in which I am speaking about, I am not meaning no longer having a schedule or not living life by a schedule ever again what I am meaning is sometimes there are days, weeks or months even, as in my case that it might be good to toss it out the window for the time being and go with the flow in whichever way the day comes for each of us for the sake of our peace and so, today is about grace, giving ourselves grace by allowing us to have permission to prioritize and only focus for the time being on the things that are truly important that truly matter to us during different seasons or situations we may find ourselves in life.
I would like to share with you that I have been struggling a great deal with different things in my personal life, things feeling heavy for me these last couple of months which is what brought this subject front and center as I was throwing my hands up in the air recently leading me to embrace and say my new motto which is, “do what you can and let that be good enough”.

SHOWNOTES FOR MELINDA HEATH PODCAST “LIFESTYLE OF DAILY JOY”
EPISODE #12 TITLED “HOW TO STOP HIDING YOUR TRUE SELF”

My thought and questions to you as well as to myself are….
You only get so much precious time here on this earth so…. How would you like to use it? And what type of energy would you like to create and bring to it?
Melinda Heath
Welcome, welcome, my beautiful souls TO “Lifestyle of Daily Joy” episode #12 “How to Stop Hiding Your True Self”
I am Melinda Heath and are super excited about today because I will be sharing about a subject that is very…. dear to my heart, one that deep down, my spirit speaks to-- and in my opinion feel that if many of us were to have a conversation with each other, we would learn we have something in common, that you are able to relate to this just as I am.
Okay… If you haven’t already go ahead and grab your favorite nutritional snack and beverage as well as a pen or pencil and some paper because this message today is completely packed with so much information you may hear something you would like to notate- and we will dive right on in.
In episode #11 “How Loving Yourself Authentically Looks Like” we covered what authenticity is and what living an authentic life looks like. In a recent episode “things that steal joy” we talked about what hinders, steals, and robs us of joy and worry was one of those things, so, in this episode we are going to be focusing on how worry ties into “how to stop hiding your true self” because of the things that we worry about. And throughout the episode I will be touching on how it plays into self-care, well-being, joy. Additionally, how it undermines our authenticity, in the sense of placing our worth in the thought processes of others that can affect our decision making, and the very things we appreciate about ourselves. Essentially, how worry can cause us to question, compare, shrink, and ultimately no longer like or to even know who we are. So, we are going to discuss the person we don’t allow others to see, the person we don’t allow others to experience, the person we keep hidden and locked away deep within us, our truth.
The exercises for the previous episodes as well as today's
The exercises last week, you wrote down all the things you feel are hindering your joy, stealing your joy and robbing you of joy.
The things that you tell yourself positive or negative.
The things you feel true to be about yourself or the ones you hear that you feel aren’t true of you.
And this week if you haven’t done it already, I would like to encourage you to write down why these things are hindering you, what has taken place for joy to be stolen from you, and why you feel those things have robbed you of joy.
I would also like to encourage you to write down why you feel those things are true or are not true of you.
And then this week the exercises entail getting out more paper, on one piece make two columns and write down one side all of your believed abilities, your talents, your gifts, everything you know you are capable of doing and in the second column write down all the things you feel you aren’t able to do.
Then take some time to think about why you feel you can and why you feel you cannot do these certain things and then write your why’s down.
Then consider out of what you can do, the things you feel you do well like wow I really nailed that or if you feel it is something you aren’t good at is it because you are comparing yourself to others or you just don’t really know how to do it and write this information down.
For the second exercise today, I would like to encourage you to write down on another piece of paper making a column on one side
Write all the things you like and love about yourself and in the other column write down all the things you do not like or love or would like to change about yourself.
Then take some time to reflect on these things, consider your reasoning why you do and why you don’t and then write them down.
The third exercise for you today has to do with your fears
On a piece of paper write all of your fears.
And then take some time to think about them and write down why you fear those things.
These are just for you, you don’t need to share this with anyone, for your own knowledge, your homework, for you figuring out the type of life you are currently building, the type of life you are living as you are working on creating your joy and building your foundation. This is a picture that you are able to maybe say I don’t want to do that anymore. I do want to continue doing this. I want to do better with this.
The purpose of my encouraging you to do these writing exercises is for you to be able to build your confidence if you feel you need to do that. To understand the limiting beliefs you may have about yourself by being able to see your thoughts in front of you. The purpose of getting them out of your mind and onto paper as there is just something about doing this. And I would really like to encourage you to reflect on what these things are true of you because just maybe all these things you originally did not think you were good at otherwise. To be able to see the things you do not like about yourself and why. To possibly discover it either is because people have said something like this to you or about you- or is it because it is from you internally something you personally do not like. So, that you can see where your liking, loving, disliking of yourself is coming from. By writing all these things down may help bring clarity to you.
These exercises are meant to help you get to the bottom of who you are, what you are about, what you bring to the table, what you feel is really good about you, and it gives you a chance to see who you really are as a person, how you operate. They can help paint a picture of your true authentic self.
So, for today, this is the exercise for you answering these questions and writing your answers down, as it helps to see what your brain is thinking. What does your life look or feel like when your self-care is fulfilled? What does it look like when your joy is overflowing? When is your well-being is optimal? What do you feel will be the first step for you to achieve any one of these things? What types of things are hindering you from being able to create this for your life? What types of things are in the way from you being able to design what you want for your life? What is in the way for you in being able to live the life that you can envision for yourself? What is it that you are holding back, that you are suppressing about yourself, the part that you are pushing down…what is that authentic part of you? What is that part of you that we do not allow others to see? What are the parts of you that you don’t allow people to experience because you worry fear of being judged? What steps can YOU take to stop hiding your true self?

SHOWNOTES FOR MELINDA HEATH PODCAST “LIFESTYLE OF DAILY JOY”
EPISODE #11 TITLED “HOW LOVING YOURSELF AUTHENTICALLY LOOKS LIKE”

THE THINGS IN OUR LIFE THAT WE NURTURE WILL GROW POSITIVELY OR NEGATIVELY DEPENDING ON HOW AND WHAT MEASURE WAS USED IN THE NURTURING
Melinda Heath
I am Melinda Heath and welcome you to “Lifestyle of Daily Joy” episode #11 “How Loving Yourself Authentically Looks” thank you so much for being here and spending your precious time with me, it means the world.
Today, we will be continuing our self-care series along with our joy mini-series with “How loving yourself authentically looks”. As I mentioned in the last episode we will be talking about three things that hinder or steal our joy and they are fear, worry, as well as inauthenticity and how these relate to self-care and our well-being. However, I do sincerely apologize as I was recording, I noticed how long this episode ended up being, so this week if you do not mind… we will only talk about fear and inauthenticity and next week we will dive into the subject of worry. It is just that I try to keep the length of the episodes 45 minutes or shorter because I do value your time and understand you have other things in your life that you need and would like to do.
Okay, as we dive deep into these things the focus will be on what authenticity is, what it means, what it looks like, the hindrances you may be facing regarding it, and how we can have an authentic life and love it. When I speak about authenticity, I am meaning the very substance of us, who we truly are as a person, maintaining all our amazing qualities that we have been given no matter how many people like us or don’t like us. And I will be sharing many examples from my own life.
For the second exercise today I would like to encourage you to write down on another piece of paper making a column on one side
Thank you so much for hanging out with me and listening in.
