If you would like, take a minute to grab your favorite nutritional snack and beverage as well as a pen or pencil and some paper so that you have something to make notations with, just in case you have any takeaways from the episode and you would like to write them down.
Alright, today we are focusing on God’s peace and his promises, which happen to be intertwined, and I will be providing lots of scripture verses, demonstrations or examples (if you will) to show how his promises and peace go hand in hand.
Deuteronomy 4:2 (NIV-New International Version)
“Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I command you.”
And 2 timothy 3:16-17 (NIV-New International Version)
“All scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
- His promise is to be close to the brokenhearted Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
- God promises his presence in times of trouble John 16:33 “I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble but take heart! I have overcome the world.”
- The promise of his spirit, the holy spirit John 14:26 as Jesus is speaking to his disciples “But the Counselor, the holy spirit, whom the father will send in my name, will teach you things, and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”
- God’s promise of his constant presence in our life Joshua 1:9 in this scripture verse God is commanding Joshua as he is leading a nation however, this verse also applies to our life, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
- God’s promise of courage Isaiah 41:10 “So, do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God.”
- God’s promise of rest when we are weary and feel heavy Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
- God’s promise of peace in our life John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you, I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
- God’s promise of helping you to have a calm mind Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
- God’s promise and provision of healing Proverbs 4:20-23 “My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words. 21 Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; 22 for they are life to those who find them and health to a man’s whole body. 23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.”
- God’s promise of comfort Jeremiah 31:13 “Then maidens will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.”
- God’s promise of refuge Isaiah 41:13 “For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”

Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes. 26 Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or stow away in barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them.
