Is your anxiety hindering?

Hey, I’m Melinda, a wife, a mom, a grandma and are so excited that you are here at” Lifestyle of Daily Joy”, and I hear you, see you, feel you, and I have been there. For many years, I was just hanging on by a thread. I understand, I too have felt worn out and wondered how in the world I was going to do what life expected of me to do. Chaotic mess might as well have been my middle name. I remember a time when I knew my thoughts were not serving me well, I just did not know how to go about changing them. I have always struggled with time for self-care. I am no stranger to needing restful sleep. I understand the paralyzing grip of procrastination. Disorganization might as well have been my last name. Setting boundaries was tough for me. Me and self-esteem were not friends. Confidence was non-existent in my life. I can certainly understand your reservations as fear stopped me from living life. For me, anxiety called shotgun of the driver seat at times. I am familiar with how it feels to reach the end of your rope saying,” Something has got to change”. I have been there wondering if there really is a loving God that exists. I learned through life how to grow closer to God.
Since then, I have become appreciative of and love my life. As I learned it is a process, it is messy, imperfect, and that it is okay to make mistakes, to be the person I was created to be, imperfect, quirky, unpolished, messy, fun, and authentic self. You see, my coming out on the other side in victory from my struggles, I concluded everything starts in our mind and our response to that is the very essence of the heart and belief in who we are.
So, if you are ready to create lifelong joy then this podcast is for you. Inside this podcast, you will learn how to cultivate and create joy; how to change your mindset; gain strategies that will help you get your life organized; learn to love yourself; what can do to get better sleep; to say yes to yourself; to break free of procrastination; to boost your mood and well-being; how to live life to its fullest rather than be in survival mode; ways you can quiet your fear and anxiety. You will also get to hear guests on the show share their own stories, testimonies, and strategies that have helped them and gain different perspectives and solutions that may land well with or resonate for different areas in our life. And so much more.
So, grab your favorite nutritious snack and beverage, some paper and a pen and listen in and let’s get started on this amazing journey of creating joy.

Show notes for Melinda Heath podcast “LIFESTYLE OF DAILY JOY”
Episode #28 titled “Part 5 Now that I am Saved- How Do I Grow in Faith and Walk with Jesus”
FAITH-LED and faith-filled life-long wellness strategies for women.
Helping women create sustainable, steadfast, unshakeable, authentic joyful abundant lives, the very joy that Jesus meant for us to have.
Faith-led Podcast Life Coach
You will not be able to break a woman who leans on and draws her confidence from the Lord for she is covered and clothed in his strength.
Today, in part 5 which I am going to share a biblical story as well as one from my personal life to tie this series together and illustrate differing circumstances what it looks like to put one’s faith into action as we choose to trust Jesus with our life and fully surrender to the truth that God does forgive our past sins, that his grace and mercy are ours and will have an impact in our life when we act out in our faith, how our faith can grow, how our life will change or our mindset will change in the way which we live, the way we carry ourselves, what we do in life, leaving our old ways behind and living for Christ, when we have personally chosen to make Jesus the Lord and Savior over our life and then I will share with you some ways in how you will know you are walking with Jesus.
Luke 7:36-50
Luke 8:1-3
Proverbs 3:5-6
The many sure ways you can know you are walking with him and have growth in your life and faith are:
1- You will know you are walking with Jesus when you put your complete faith and trust in him that he wants good things for you, when you lean on him for strength and confidence, when you believe that he is there to help you, that he will answer your prayer, that he will be walking beside you, that he will not abandon you, that he will for forgive you if you ask.
2- You know you are walking with Jesus when you have prioritized him to be first in your life.
3- You will know when you have intentionally invited him into your world, your personal bubble and asking him to be a part of it daily, actually having him participate in your life and not just having him wait on the sidelines.
4- You know you are walking with him when you find yourself praying, having conversations with him daily, about anything and everything, all things good, all things not so good, praying and leaning on him for help and guidance in all areas of your life.
5- A way you will know is when you are seeking him, seeking his wisdom rather than relying on just your own and not just seeking but following his wisdom, living out his wisdom.
6- You know you are walking with Jesus when you trust, believe, and have faith in his ways his timing that they are better than yours and you live your life in such a way.
7- A way you will know is if you include him in your decision making on a daily weekly or monthly basis for you life, asking if this what you hope to do, the goals you hope to achieve aligns with his plan for you, if what you would like to do in your life is the direction he would like for you to go. Because who knows maybe he had something different in mind for you, maybe even something better.
8- How you will know is if you consider him and his plans for you first before you choose to take an opportunity that may come up for you, by asking him if that is an opportunity he would like for you to take, if that fits in his plan for your life for there may be an opportunity that is up and coming in your future that he knows about that he meant for you- but you wouldn’t be able to do it because you may have accepted something else prior, so it is always good to check with the Lord first so you don’t miss out on something that could have blessed you or others with your life.
9- You will know you are walking with him when you are completely honest with him.
10- How will you know- when you have the desire to spend more time with him.
11- How will you know you are walking with him, when you care more about what Jesus thinks of you rather than what the world thinks of you.
12- You will also know when you start feeling the conviction of the holy spirit, the way he guides you in your thought processes regarding the things you know you should not be doing (to include the things you try to keep secret the things you don’t want others to know you are doing such things in your life), or the things you struggle with regarding temptation, or things that aren’t kind (the very things you may have used to have done before having accepted Christ and now you may be feeling the conviction to change them- your unkind ways) when you start feeling a conviction of things that aren’t of God that are more of the world and your heart and mind are changing about them as you may be finding you no longer want those ways to be a part of your life, when you start feeling convicted in your heart of how you are with others, no matter who they are, your activities that you do, your thoughts and patterns of behavior and you find yourself turning them around because they no longer feel good or right for you to be doing.
13- You will know you are walking with Jesus if you feel a conviction to disengage with certain people in your inner circle as you may feel the need to make a change regarding who you spend time with as you may come to the conclusion they are on a path you are no longer following.
14- You know you are when you find yourself in not nice situations with others, and instead of you responding like you normally would possibly with an ugly attitude you may be finding how you handle such circumstances has changed.
15- A way for you to know is maybe you are no longer wanting to get back at people, no longer wanting to seek revenge towards those who hurt you.
16- How will you know you are walking with Jesus if you are seeking peace rather than wanting to have the last word with someone, that this is no longer important to you.
17- You will know when you choose to use good over evil to fight the not so nice things off in the world, you find yourself wanting to instead fight them off with kindness, instead of the same ugly darkness that the world has and does offer; when your ways are different than that of world’s ways, when you find yourself no longer aligning yourself with the world’s darkness and the things they see as good and acceptable.
18- you are walking with Jesus when your once angry heart is able to forgive someone.
You will know when you start praying for those who persecute you.
20 - You will know you are walking with him when your prayer life includes you thanking him, acknowledging him and who he is what he does in your life, recognizing his faithfulness first and then asking him for something, it is wanting to spend time talking to him, longing to speak with him and not just having the conversations you have with him on the things you want.
21- How you will know you are walking with him is when you have come to the understanding that your identity is in him, not in the world, that your worth and value come from him, not from the world.
Now for announcements. I would like to let you know after careful consideration of all that is taking place in my life at the moment, the struggles I am facing, I have come to the conclusion that Friday’s will be the better day for me to publish my podcast episodes, I in my first episode did explain that it will be on Tuesday’s however, with all things considered at least for now, I will need to change the day of week. So, with that, I would like to give some time for my listeners to hear and receive this information before I make the switch. So, next week will be on Tuesday as usual well I plan on Tuesday as it is Wednesday this week that I am able to get this to you and then there will be a gap of a few days then that following week Friday June 5, 2026 is when the new date will be in effect. My second announcement is that the Facebook Community group I have set up I use it to post encouraging thoughts for all my listeners to read and enjoy however, since my only so far communication with you is through my episodes I will start posting any announcements I may have in the community group in case there is an episode you do not listen to and that episode just happens to have my announcements in it so, this way you can get the updated information. The third announcement I have well, it really isn’t an announcement it is more informational in helpful sense. I am not trying to get you to email me, however, if you were to connect with me via email and I had you on my email list when things such as this come up I can send out the information to you ensuring you will receive it otherwise if you choose not to become a member of the community group and you do not listen to all the podcast episodes it is highly probable that you will miss important information such as changes and the like. Though this is entirely up to you whether you would like to receive an email or be a part of the community to make sure you have up to date information regarding Lifestyle of Daily Joy podcast.
Thank you so much for listening in and hanging out with me today. I know I have given you a ton of information to absorb. Though, if there were any takeaways you have or something you enjoyed or something that impacted you would you please be willing to share this episode with others, I would be so appreciative.

If your answer is yes to the questions at the beginning of this episode, you are well on your way to a very exciting journey, as the beginning of anything new that we are going or planning to create or build in our life, it is our want, it is our desire to do, to create something that is a necessary ingredient for us to be able to get started, to even see it through and it is in my opinion the most exciting journey you will ever take in your life for, this is a journey of a lifetime, a lifetime and beyond as it and will be never-ending, never-ending- eternal. So, if this is you… let us get started for there is no time like the present because you cannot go back, you only have right here and now as time does not stand still not even for a millisecond, it only marches forward whether you are ready for it to or not, so you must seize what it is you want to seize in the moments that you have in the present to grab a hold of your heart’s desire.

According to me, Melinda Heath
Faith believes in….. Things will happen-that the impossible is possible with God, good things will manifest, God does listen and God does hear me-God will answer my prayer, God will fulfill his promises to me, God knows what is best for me, God knows my future, God is with me, God will not abandon-leave or forsake me, God will strengthen me, God is walking with me, God goes before me, God does forgive and he will when I have forgiven all others and I ask him to, all of God’s word is true- all of his word is God breathed, that I do have eternal life in him, that I am his daughter, that he is my shield and protects me, that he is for me and not against me, that there is a way even when I do not see it, that God is not distant from me- he is near me all the time, God is good all the time, God is holy, he wants me to have life to the fullest- an abundantly joyful life and that I can have that by and through him, when I seek God I will find him, in him I have restoration for my spirit when it is broken, that he took on my past sins, scattered and has forgotten about them, that I am worthy- worthy enough for him to have died for me and my sins.
This to me, is a picture of me growing in my faith, a picture of me walking with Jesus by my side in life, this is a picture of my faith in action by my living my life in such a way that it believes all these things to be true of God.

Let us talk about the elephant in the room, the very question that lingers in our minds after we have accepted Christ, the very one that maybe even long-time believers in Christ have not been willing to admit this question in their mind as to what may have happened- a whole lot of silence, “Did anything actually take place when I asked him to come into my life?” For, you expected peace and joy possibly even a 180 in your life but rather nothing, zilch, nada, nicht happened.

As Kenneth Copeland puts it….
You see, Faith opens the door to God’s promise to you. And patience keeps it open until that promise is fulfilled.
Kenneth Copeland
Hello! Hello! I am Melinda Heath welcome to Lifestyle of Daily Joy thank you for being here and spending your precious time with me listening to episode #22 “God’s promises + Peace in Christ”
If you would like, take a minute to grab your favorite nutritional snack and beverage as well as a pen or pencil and some paper so that you have something to make notations with, just in case you have any takeaways from the episode and you would like to write them down.
Alright, today we are focusing on God’s peace and his promises, which happen to be intertwined, and I will be providing lots of scripture verses, demonstrations or examples (if you will) to show how his promises and peace go hand in hand.
Deuteronomy 4:2 (NIV-New International Version)
“Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I command you.”
And 2 timothy 3:16-17 (NIV-New International Version)
“All scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
His promise is to be close to the brokenhearted Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
